Maybe you’re crazy in the head, baby

It certainly has been a busy month. First, there was my birthday, and then the day after that I left for Gencon Indianapolis. We had a fantastic time. I came close again to making day 2 of the PC, but bad draws and bad plays kept me out again. I honestly think this time around it was more of the former. I was the only one on my team to successfully go 5 turns without playing a single character. Probably set a record for fastest game of VS at a PC.

I fared much better in the 10k, actually making the top 8. Only problem was, I had problems with rescheduling my plane ticket, so I missed playing in the finals. Still, I won enough money to cover my trip. I wrote up a tournament report on the way home, maybe I’ll put it up some day.

The day after I got back from that trip, I took a trip to Austin for work. Adam drove up from College Station with his girlfriend, so I got to eat lunch with him, then on the weekend I rented a car and drove to Houston to visit the rest of my family. I had an epic tennis battle with Andrew, but in the 5th set (2 hours into the match) I sprained my ankle and couldn’t continue. It wasn’t a bad sprain, took about a week to recover enough to get back out on the court, but I didn’t want to make it any worse.

This past week has been all about watching sports on TV. The US Open, College football, UFC, the NFL. There were some great games & matches, and 2 more NFL games to watch tonight.

My fantasy teams are mostly doing well. In the league I am in with my friends, I am going into tonight with a 52-42 lead. My opponent still has Baltimore’s Defense and Darrel Jackson (WR for the 49rs), while I’ve got Carson Palmer. Carson and the Bengals play Baltimore at home, so tensions are high. If Carson can put up a couple of TDs, that should seal my fate.

I joined a public league just for fun, and I dominated that matchup. After Ben Roethlisberger put up 27 fantasy points I was kicking myself for not starting him as my QB, but then Tony Romo goes and puts up 37 points! What fantastic luck!
